Sentinel — SCADA Monitoring
Sentinel is a SCADA monitoring frontend for a fictional water-treatment plant. It brings together process telemetry, asset inspection, alarm handling, and historian charts using existing AWC UI components.

Try it in five minutes
Section titled “Try it in five minutes”- Read the plant overview. Follow the process path, equipment health, KPI cards, and telemetry that updates every four seconds.
- Inspect equipment. Filter assets by name, tag, or process area. Sort or page the table and open an asset side sheet.
- Review an alarm. Filter by severity or acknowledgment, record an operator note, and confirm acknowledgment. Acknowledgment records review and does not claim to repair an equipment condition.
- Explore history. Compare flow, pressure, and power over one, six, or 24 hours, zoom charts, and download a labeled simulation CSV.
- Personalize the workspace. Open Make it yours beside the account avatar or from Settings. Try a primary color, density level, Arabic, right-to-left layout, and light/dark appearance. Pause the simulation from Settings.
To try the account screens, select Sign in → Use demo credentials → Continue to verification. Enter verification code 482916, or use recovery code AWCDEMO1. Signup and recovery also demonstrate expiry and validation states.
Components in context
Section titled “Components in context”| Workflow | AWC components |
|---|---|
| Responsive plant workspace | App bar, Navigation rail, Navigation bar, Breadcrumbs |
| Equipment and alarms | Table, List, Status dot, Chip, Side sheet, Dialog |
| Telemetry and trends | Card, Line chart, Sparkline, Meter |
| Verification and preferences | Text field, OTP field, Color picker, Select, Switch |
| Loading and feedback | Skeleton, Progress indicator, Button, Snackbar |
The rail uses its native footer slots and expandable control. Tables provide their own loading state, and charts use their existing loading API. Pending submissions, exports, acknowledgment, and reset actions show native button progress and prevent duplicate work. The app includes a brief labeled simulation delay for this feedback.
Build and data
Section titled “Build and data”Sentinel lives in apps/scada as a plain JavaScript app. Its production build
copies the local AWC runtime, fonts, application modules, and vendored theme helper
into a self-contained directory. The docs integration serves it at
/showcase/scada/html/; hash routes preserve static hosting beneath that prefix.
All plants, assets, signals, events, and historian data are simulated. No physical devices are contacted or controlled. Alarms and notes live in memory and reset on reload. Demo account profile state is tab-scoped, while language, appearance, and layout preferences persist locally. The sample authentication flow is separate from any real identity provider, operational authorization, or SCADA backend.
Run locally
Section titled “Run locally”From the repository root, with core built:
pnpm --filter @awc-ui/scada devOpen Sentinel locally. Rebuild and refresh after source
changes. Run regression checks with pnpm --filter @awc-ui/scada test.
