Trying to write about a place I have only been to once and it is going about as well as you would expect.

Learned today that the street I have lived on for eleven years is named after a ship that sank two miles offshore in 1873, and that there is a plaque about it forty metres from my front door that I have walked past roughly eight thousand times.

Anyone got a spare ticket for Thursday?

Been thinking about how much of a city you only see when something breaks — a road closed, a bridge out — and you are pushed down a street you would never have chosen. Half of what I know about this place I learned during roadworks.
